A recent Pew Research Center’s Internet & American Life Project study shows that non-white adult internet users have higher rates of accessing video-sharing sites. This has been a consistent finding since 2006.
The study shows that 69 percent of white internet users reported visiting video-sharing sites, while 79 percent of non-whites (described as African-Americans, Hispanics and others) used video-sharing sites. Overall, more Americans are using video-sharing sites, and are using them more frequently. I also find it interesting that the report looked at the viewing of video sites, rather than uploading and actively using the sites, which would be an interesting figure to look at, especially since so many video content sites are popping up, like Urbano TV and Pegate TV.
