In recent articles I’ve written about the reason why advertisers should start reaching the latinos in the U.S. especially now when the World Cup is being played this year, I say especially during the World Cup because soccer is the number one sport for Latinos. Point being today I read an article that reminded me of these past articles I’ve written.
The article is from brandchannel and talks about how the world’s marketers are increasing their efforts thru different medias like mobil, social media to reach the diehard and fair weather soccer fans Latino community. I was very excited to see that marketers are finally seeing the value and power of the Latino community. Also according to MediaPost The US cities with high Hispanic populations are topping Google’s World Cup search list. Also states that YouTube is feeling the heat, In April and May soccer was the most watched sport on the site with around 1.6 billion views.
The World Cup is opening eyes to many advertisers out there that were not seeing or believing on reaching the Latinos in the US. This is going to be the beginning of a new era, Ads in Spanish and what I like to call Spanglish will be showing in many networks, even in those networks that are only English language, because Latinos understand both languages or should I say three: English, Spanish & Spanglish.
