comScore presents Digital Future Mexico

comScore, world leader in measuring of the digital world presented Digital Future Mexico 2012 on August 7. The study shows a mexican online population reaching 27.9 million unique visitors in June 2012 and consumed an average of 20.5 hours per month per visitor.

Other important discoveries included in the report are:

  • Mexicans consumed 7.8 hours/month per visitor on social networks
  • Politics sites saw a 384% growth in the a month of visitors since last year
  • 81.7% of the Mexican internet audience watched online videos
  • The biggest amount of visitors to retail sites were made in Hardware and Computer Software

According to the recent Comscore State of the Internet report, the total internet population worldwide spent 2.2 trillion minutes online and viewed 3.5 trillion pages in the month of March 2012 alone. The report presented an overview of audience trends in the U.S. and worldwide, a top line analysis of video, search, mobile and e-commerce, an analysis of the top online activities and sites driving visitation and engagement across U.S. markets, and a review of top online trends in 2012 and what factors will be important looking ahead to 2013.

A recent article on Hispanic PR Blog gave the following interesting nuggets about Hispanics in the Nation’s Capital, Maryland & Wisconsin taken from the 2010 Census:
•    Hispanics represent 9% of the population of DC, 8% of Maryland, and 6% of Wisconsin.
•    Between 2000 and 2010, Maryland’s Hispanic population grew by 106%, while Wisconsin’s grew by 74%
•    Sixteen percent of Hispanics in the District of Columbia do not have health insurance (Pew Hispanic Center, 2009).
