United States citizens are jumping on the opportunity to fly direct to Cuba from New Orleans, Louisiana and New York, New York.

Both cities are now offering nonstop flights to Cuba as the United States is taking steps to normalize diplomatic relations for the first time since 1961.

High Connectivity in Mexico

Mobile México

Only two weeks ago I had the opportunity to visit Mexico City and Guadalajara on business. You have to go there to enjoy their food, the friendly people, tequila… almost everything but the traffic. It’s true, there’s a lot of traffic, but when you have a cell phone with Internet connection… it’s bearable.

This last observation made me realize that in a lot of public places, the level of connectivity was extremely high. Whether it was in cafes, food courts, malls, bars, etc., the number of connected users “glued” to their cell phones was no less.

On February 28, an event was celebrated which unfortunately doesn’t receive the same advertising or importance of other events on the yearly calendar. I’m talking about National High Technology Day. This is an annual celebration, and this year it was celebrated across 32 cities in the United States and Puerto Rico with a turnout of more than 2,200 students for this 15th edition.

Several Hispanic students take part in this annual celebration organized by AT&T and Group HACEMOS, who offer support and resources to create strong communities by promoting education.

Hispanic or Latino?

Hispanic or Latino?

What is the correct term, Latino or Hispanic? We hear these two words used interchangeably in the media, at political conventions, and in everyday conversations. But what is the difference?
Although there are a lot of similarities between them, there are a few distinct differences that should be noted.

Latino generally refers to countries (or cultures) that were once under Roman rule. This includes Italy, France, Spain, etc. Brazilians are considered to be Latino, but are not considered to be Hispanic.

The City of Eternal Spring

Medellín, the second-largest city in Colombia, is nestled in the Aburrá Valley, a central region of the Andes Mountains in South America. Because of the pleasant spring-like climate all year round, Medellín is known as “La Ciudad de la Eterna Primavera” or “City of the Eternal Spring”.

From the mid-1980’s to present day, Medellín has seen an enormous transformation. Some of this is due in part to a marketing campaign begun in the 1980’s, “Depende también de ti, darle amor a Medellín” (It depends on you too, to give love to Medellín). This sense of pride helped pave the way to the thriving city it is today.
