Comscore just came out with an article stating, “Two out of five Hispanic Millennials are mobile-only Internet users”. I knew that Hispanics love their mobile device, but the numbers really surprised me. It continues: “Among Hispanics, however, 21 percent of digital media users are mobile-only, compared to just 9 percent among non-Hispanics.

This target segment is extremely valuable; knowing that they access and live on the Internet via their mobile device is huge for marketers.

Bottom line:  targeting Hispanic Millennials and not incorporating Mobile is a big mistake.

A few weeks back I wrote about bicultural marketing & content and addressed the challenges some brands face when trying to connect with the bicultural Latino audience. I’m excited to see that Hulu isn’t having that problem!

I came across an article on Hulu Latino and the success they’ve had since their launch, two years ago.  Hulu launched Hulu Latino with original Latino-focused series, such as “East Los High,” that speak to both Spanish- and English-speaking Latinos.

The online video publisher has seen growth in its viewers and uniques and continues to create content that speaks to various Latino audiences and cultures. It continues its growth by not only creating original series, but also by partnering with Univision and Mundo Fox, serving as an additional distribution platform for the TV Networks and their popular series.

When walking down the streets, taking public transportation, or being out at a restaurant, it’s become the norm to see people engaging with their mobile device. Given our current reality, it comes as no surprise that there are currently more wireless devices being used than there are Americans.

It’s important to note that Hispanics are playing a big part as consumers of wireless technology. According to the Pew Research, 92% percent of the current 53 million Hispanics in the US own a cell phone. The new PcW report “Mi Móvil: Hispanic consumers embrace mobile technology” provides the key reasons for the Hispanic propensity toward mobile device usage.

It’s clear that Mobile is here to stay. Understanding the Hispanic attitudes and behaviors toward Mobile can be a powerful tool for marketers.

Due to its growing success, one of Foursquare’s key goals is to expand their advertising tools to markets worldwide. This year they are taking the next step to make their presence in Latin America.

Foursquare knows the importance of tapping into the Latin America market and the potential success their application can have there. According to Portada’s article, Latin America’s internet users spend ten hours a month on social media platforms. Through partnering with IMS, who has experience working exclusively with other fast-moving businesses such as Twitter, Waze, and Spotify, Foursquare definitely has the tools and is in the right direction to enter the Latin American business operations.
